My Bio

I apologize for the lack of cohesion on my site. I have no strict art direction, media method or subject matter. I'm aware that my deviations are a patchwork of art and scribbles. I am a hobbyist to the extreme. Sometimes a desire to draw will strike and I'll create a number of works in a short period of time. Then the desire fades and two or more years will pass before I put pencil to paper.

By trade, I work in the IT industry and I think that much of my creative flow goes into my work or my other hobby, gaming. I have a very old Minecraft world littered with buildings from my imagination.

Beyond my hobbies and my profession, I am a husband and a father, both of which enrich my life and keep me busy. I get excited when I see that creative spark show in my children, both through their art, and their creative Lego builds. It is satisfying to see my own passion for creativity passed down.

Favourite Visual Artist
I honestly don't have a favorite artist. There are so many good artists across so many fields, it would be impossible to choose one.
Favourite Movies
I love scary movies, action movies and historical fiction.
Favourite TV Shows
The Office. No one is more cringey or hilarious than Michael Scott.
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
I grew up with a healthy appreciation of 90s Alt/grunge, Pop, Rap, Rock, R&B. These days, I also love modern Pop, J-Pop, and Classical. I'm a big fan of attending the Symphony. Live music is the best.
Favourite Books
Brandon Sanderson's various creative works, Robert Jordan, Game of Thrones, Epic Fantasy, Historical Non-Fiction, Classic works like The Illiad.
Favourite Writers
Brandon Sanderson. A Fantasy/Sci-Fi genius in my opinion. He also has a great free series of Writing Lectures on Youtube.
Favourite Games
Final Fantasy, Dying Light, Minecraft. I love RPGs, Sandbox games, city builders, and anything with zombies.
Favourite Gaming Platform
Anything. Steam, Console, Emulation.
Tools of the Trade
Paper, Paint Tool Sai, Photoshop CS3, Clip Studio Paint
Other Interests
I enjoy cooking, travelling and spending time with my wife and kids. Right now I'm learning to read/write Japanese and it's been a lot of fun.
One of my daughter's volleyball coaches asked me to draw him a picture in exchange for payment. He also wanted color. I've never had a commission before. Anything I drew for someone, I gave away freely. I'm also not the most confident with colored pencil, so this was a big ask for me with a healthy dose of pressure. He had a tight deadline and this was going to be a gift for someone important in his life, so I didn't want to screw it up. I managed to get the art done on time, and he loved the result. The picture was good size as well, at 11 x 14, so there was a lot of ground to cover with pencil. I made this in just two days and my hand was dead by the end. From my understanding, the person he gifted the art to must have loved it. His compensation was a surprising amount and I won't lie, it boosted my confidence. I feel inspired to try more art with colored pencil.

Back in 2017 I decided to start drawing again after years of not touching a pencil. For the past two years I've been drawing off and on in a sketch book, trying to learn the art of Japanese Manga. I love the style and I've always wanted to learn h

Busted.

I broke my finger, but luckily I broke it on the hand I don't draw with, so it hasn't been much of a hindrance.
